Every class has 3 periods of Quran, the schedule is as follows:
Day 1: Memorization (practice and testing)
Day 2: Reading and Tajweed
Day 3: Tafseer of chapters in Juz 30
What is expected of your child?
¨ Keep up with reading charts daily, if in grades 4 & 5 practice with the four step process at least once a week. Mark the day the four step process was completed with an X.
¨ When reading and memorizing implement pronunciation and reading rules learned in class.
¨ Review notes once a week.
¨ Complete memorization assignments by assigned date, if you have not been tested by your date than move on to the next assignment.
¨ Keep all handouts, charts, memorizations contracts, and green card in Quran folder and all notes in Quran notebook. Always bring folder and notebook with you to class.
What is asked of you (the parent)?
¨ Review and sign memorization contracts with your child.
¨ Remind children to maintain daily reading and memorization.
¨ If your child is reading verses different from the assignment, the assignment can be changed as long as it is initialed by an adult.
¨ Make sure your child has a notebook/folder for class.
¨ If your child needs additional help, please look into tutoring options.
¨ Encourage your child to form a personal connection with the Quran instead of treating the course like an academic subject.
