The Dude Times

To the Dudes…

When I first met you this year, the transition from girls to boys was not easy. I went from pretty colored flowers and happy stories to peculiar smells and gory narratives. But once I understood your masculine ways, there wasn’t a single morning where I wasn’t excited to see you. You guys are intelligent, sweet, hilarious, and how can I forget very CUTE!

I’m grateful to Allah for the opportunity to have taught five young men, whom I know will make positive contributions to this world.  Among the many things we learned this year, we’ve also come to know that effective leadership requires confidence and patience, qualities all of you have demonstrated through the challenges you faced. I am very proud of the accomplishments you made in 4th grade.

Remember, Allah has made you brothers and you will always have a responsibility to one another. Always be a team player. Where ever you go or whatever endeavors you pursue, bear in mind that Allah’s pleasure is our ultimate goal and his beloved Messenger is the ladder to reach those heights. Your parents and teachers have high expectations for you and I am confident you will live up to them.

Your teacher and friend,

“The Precious One”

To the Parents…

In the two years that I have been at Averroes Academy I have learned that this school is like no other. We are not just an institution of learning, we are a proactive team.

I want like to thank you for entrusting me with the responsibility of teaching your sons. I sincerely applaud you, for the boys are absolutely  amazing. I am certain that they will grow up to be an asset to our ummah and a blessing for our country.

Averroes Academy would not be the school it is if it were not for the parents who work so diligently behind the scenes and support the teachers every step of the way. I would like to list just a few of the contributions some of the mothers have made this year.
